Server crashed

The appliance that hosted my blog had crashed recently.
Unfortunately, it refuses to wake up after that.
I have recently recovered the blog, but not to the latest content (sorry) as I couldn’t find the latest backup copy.
At least it’s better than losing the whole site.
This is a hosted system I am using and hopefully, it will stay up…
Warm regards
B&W Film photography
by mathew_soon on Jan.17, 2010, under Photography
Last week, I’ve done B&W Film photography.
Using my old and trusty Nikon F50 with Nikkor 24mm F2.8. I’ve also used the RED filter for the Nikkor lens to enhance the contrast of B&W. Film is Fujifilm Neopan professional 400.
Though not as grainy as I like, but its clarity and contrast is commendable.
I’ve put both HDR color and scanned B&W negative for comparison here.
Both taken in similar lighting condition. Experience gained from this B&W trial is that you must get a RED filter. Another thing is to understand Zone method.
More B&W coming..
SMU in HDR – Part 2
by mathew_soon on Jan.15, 2010, under Photography
After the last 2 tried using the new version of HDR software, I decided to try one more. I feel the SMU HDR image earlier does some injustice. Its too… blue.
Strangely, I did not really change the color or temp. It just appear that way after HDR software tonemapping.

Re-HDR? What is that?
Don’t worry, you did not read wrong. I’ve decided to use a new version of the HDR software to regenerate the Cityhall picture. Not sure but I feel the previous version introduced some color casts.
